Getting Started
Welcome to PAIX Navigator — what it is, what you can do with it, and where to go next.
What is PAIX Navigator?
PAIX Navigator is an AI assistant for exploring, visualising, and requesting medical datasets by asking questions in plain language. You describe what you want; the assistant does the querying, plotting, and structuring for you; no SQL, no forms to fill by hand.
Beta. The product is in invite-only beta and works over public data only for now. As the footer notes on every screen: PaiX accuracy may vary, so verify important details independently.
The two things you can do
Everything in the app is one of two workflows. Pick based on whether the data you need already exists in a connected dataset or needs to be sourced.
| Data Insight | Data Request | |
|---|---|---|
| Use it to | Explore, query, and visualise data that’s already available | Describe data you don’t have yet and ask whether it can be sourced |
| You do | Pick a dataset, then chat | Describe your needs in chat |
| You get | Answers, tables, and interactive charts | A structured data request you can submit and track |
| Under the hood | DatasetExplorerAgent writes and runs queries, then draws charts |
DataRequestAgent builds a specification, checks availability, and submits it |
| Find it | Data Insight in the sidebar | Data Request in the sidebar; submitted requests live under My Requests |
Data Insight is the fastest way to see the product work - start there. The Quickstart walks you from zero to your first chart.
Data Request is for when the data isn’t in the catalog: you explain the cohort, modality, and sample size you need, the assistant turns that into a structured request, checks availability against PAICON’s network, and lets you submit it. You then track its progress under My Requests.
Access & plans
- Invite-only during beta. Access is granted via an invitation or an approved beta-access request — there’s no open public signup yet.
- Plans. Accounts are Free or Pro. A monthly token quota bounds usage on Free accounts (you’ll see your usage in the sidebar); Pro accounts are quota-exempt.
- Public data only. During beta the assistant works over the public datasets you can open in Data Insight.
Where to go next
- Quickstart — get to your first chart in a couple of minutes.
- Prompting for a plot — how to phrase requests and iterate.
- Interactive Data Visualisations — the chart types you can produce.
- Skills & connectors — save reusable analysis playbooks and reach external sources such as the literature.
- Data Request — request data that isn’t in the catalogue, check availability, and track it.
