Help & FAQ
Quick answers to the things people hit most often.
How do I get access?
Access is invite-only during beta. You sign in with an invitation or an approved beta-access request - there’s no open public signup yet. If you can’t sign in, you likely don’t have an active invitation.
What data can I explore?
The public datasets available in Data Insight - currently TCGA and CPTAC. See Datasets for what each contains and what’s coming.
My question came back as text with no chart - why?
Usually one of:
- The request was too broad to resolve to a single query - narrow the cohort or split it across follow-ups.
- The visualisation isn’t supported - the app renders 12 chart types; things like embeddings or spatial tissue overlays aren’t available.
- The data isn’t in that dataset - not every field exists in every dataset.
Rephrasing along the lines in Prompting for a plot resolves most of these. If you explicitly want a chart, name it (“…as a bar chart”).
I hit a “token limit reached” message
Usage on Free accounts is bounded by a monthly token quota; the sidebar shows how much you’ve used, and warns as you approach the limit. When it’s reached, the app pauses new requests until the window resets - and, as the message says, you can contact us for a higher limit. Pro accounts are exempt from the quota.
The assistant declined my request or said it’s out of scope
The assistant is scoped to exploring data in the selected dataset. Questions that aren’t about the data - platform internals, unrelated topics, or attempts to change how it behaves - are declined by design. Rephrase as a question about the dataset, or use Data Request if you’re after data that isn’t available.
How do I refine or download a chart?
- Refine by continuing the conversation - “show it as a pie chart instead”, “only stage III and IV”, “relabel the axis”. The chat keeps the query context, so you don’t restate the cohort.
- Download using the chart’s toolbar (hover the chart) when download is enabled - it exports a PNG.
Can I make the assistant run an analysis my way every time?
Yes — save it as a skill. Type / in the composer to pick one, or upload your own SKILL.md playbook under Skills. See Skills & connectors.
Can the assistant look things up outside the dataset?
When connectors are enabled for your account, ask for the literature, trials, or external references explicitly and the assistant queries the connected source and cites it. Only non-identifying scientific terms leave the platform. See Skills & connectors.
How do I request data that isn’t available?
Use Data Request: describe the cohort, modality, and sample size you need, check availability, and submit. Track it under My Requests.
Still stuck? Use the in-app feedback option, or contact the PAICON team.
